We need more written like this offering alternative opinions even if we don't all agree with them. I'm confused as to what category I belong. I am half Native American and do believe in a Creator. However I do not support the viewpoints of the Christian churches I have attended and maybe just a little of the Reformed Jewish beliefs after attending the synagogue. I believe most all of modern religion and surely the bible is made up by men as a means to control the masses. So much of modern Christianity seems to have come from earlier attempts to convert people who worshipped the Norse gods.

The Christian holidays are mostly reinterpretations of Norse and other Pagan practices. Much of Christianity today appears to be brainwashing if you do some indepth research of how cults are able to control others the techniques are the same.

It sounds more like Enchanted Collectivism. I am an Agnostic because I want to determine my own beliefs or decide if I believe in anything at all. At the heart of my journey is my freedom. One must be completely free of the beliefs of others in order to explore the Universe. One must also be comfortable with uncertainty and accept mystery as mystery. I am not interested in what other's think of my ideas and I do not wish to waste my time listening to their mythology.

Never realized that PhD meant Phull of Dung. The ability of humans to question, and failing to do it themselves in primitive conditions, is what created religion. The universe may indeed someday prove to have something we would call a spirit. But to it we are nothing more than the grains of sand that compose it.
