Frozen 2 is the highest-grossing animated movie ever and the box office isn't the only barrier it is breaking. When it comes to depictions of masculinity in pop culture, Frozen 2 is melting hearts all over the internet.
Just like in the first film, the leading male, Kristoff, isn't charging in to rescue the princesses. Instead, he's supporting the people he loves, expressing his emotions and being Twitter users and cultural critics are loving Kristoff's story arc in this sequel. TV and Pop Culture Writer Not Dominick, of Buzzfeed, said it best, tweeting: "Okay, but can we talk about how Kristoff sang a power ballad about his feelings, told Anna that his love isn't fragile, AND asked Anna what she needed during battle and didn't tell her to step aside so he could protect her.

I love it all so much. He asks her what she needs during a crisis. If that isn't great modeling of a healthy relationship we don't know what is. Frozen star Kristin Bell has been dropping hints about Kristoff's awesome story for awhile. During a press event for the film she told reporters that at one point in Frozen 2 Sven tells Kristoff 'You feel what you feel and your feelings are real.
Props to Anderson-Lopez for writing a song about feelings for Kristoff and props to actor Jonathan Groff for bringing Kristoff to life.
We need more characters like Kristoff because our boys need to know that it's okay to feel. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods after they were recalled. Motherly reached out to TJX, the company that operates these off-price stores, and a spokesperson stated TJX is committed to fixing this issue. We deeply regret that in some instances, recalled products were not properly removed from our sales floors despite the recall processes that we had in place. We are taking appropriate steps to strengthen these processes moving forward. We apologize to our customers and encourage anyone who believes they may have one of these products to participate in the recall.
For additional information about the recalls and how to participate, customers can visit the Product Recall page at our retail brand websites at www. Consumer Product Safety Commission website at www. When the recall was announced in June Fisher-Price stated that "parents and caregivers should immediately discontinue use of the inclined sleeper accessory for this product and visit our site for further assistance. The fact that parents have purchased the recalled accessory and other inclined sleepers at retail stores after the recalls were announced is a concern for the CPSC, which has been urging parents and caregivers to stop using all inclined sleeping products.
After several deaths and recalls the CPSC hired a specialist in infant biomechanics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to conduct a study. According to the CPSC , that study "examined how 10 infants move and use their muscles on flat, inclined surfaces, and in selected inclined sleep products, and whether such product designs directly impact safety or present a risk factor that could contribute to the suffocation of an infant.
The study concluded that the inclined sleep products that were tested were not safe for sleep, and the expert behind the study says the kind of testing she did after millions of inclined sleepers were sold should be done before products go to market. After close to two years as an only child, my son is still adjusting to life with his 4-month-old sister. But while there have been plenty of bumps , I've had no reason to doubt that the sibling relationship will enrich both of their lives —and now a new study confirms it.
Although research has long shown the positive role of older siblings in their younger siblings' lives, a report published last month in the journal Child Development proves little brothers and sisters positively affect their older siblings' empathy abilities , too. For the longitudinal study, researchers examined sets of ethnically diverse sibling pairs in Canada between the ages of 18 and 48 months by videotaping interactions in the family homes and collecting questionnaires from the mothers.

They gauged empathy by observing both siblings' facial and behavioral responses to an adult play-acting distress. By assessing the responses 18 months later, researchers were able to determine that the empathy skills of older siblings improved the longer they had adjusted to life with a little brother or sister. There was just one notable exception: Younger brothers of little sisters didn't appear to inspire the same kind of empathetic maturation.
To understand the reason behind that, they said more research is needed. This latest report is in line with the findings presented in the book The Eldest Daughter Effect , which the authors previously told Motherly explains how big sisters are primed for leadership roles later in life. As hard as this may be to believe for those of us refereeing a dozen sibling disagreements per day, it certainly is a welcome reminder that our kids are better for it.
The classic children's film A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is a popular holiday special that will be airing again this season, but some parents are concerned that the history lessons within it need an update for audiences. The special will air Wednesday, November 27, at 8 p.
If you haven't watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving since childhood, there are a few things you should know when viewing it with your kids: First, it's still rather fun to watch as an adult, because now you get that Charlie is clinically depressed and Patty is a feminist and that Woodstock eating turkey is every bit as weird as you thought.
But second, it's problematic in its treatment of Franklin , the cartoon's sole black character, who for some reason is seated on one side of the table by himself. In ABC's programming announcement, the network also added that the half-hour Thanksgiving special will come with a side dish, as it has for several recent years, 's This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers.
This Is America seems a bit like an afterthought, tacked on to ABC's programming to make sure live TV audiences get a full hour to watch. It's a re-telling of the Mayflower voyage, the colonists' early struggles in America, and their first harvest celebration with members of the Wampanoag tribe. Take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy the Simply Hilarious project in its onstage incarnation, guaranteed to make you smile….

In the sensible yet elegant hands of actresses Helen Mirren and Julie Walters, Calendar Girls walks a fine line between sappiness and snickering and ends up both wonderfully funny and gently touching.
When her best friend Annie Walters loses her husband, Chris Mirren cooks up a scheme to commemorate him: they and their friends--all fiftysomething women--will make a nude calendar to raise money for the hospital where he died. The calendar becomes hugely popular, but the success may drive a wedge between the two women's friendship. Based on a true story, Calendar Girls carefully balances the stories of several women as it follows the calendar's media explosion, becoming a surprisingly moving fable of loss, determination and the perils of fame.
And let's face it--Helen Mirren is one of the wittiest and sexiest women alive, clothes on or not. A classic cult film that features one of the screen's most unlikely pairs.

It will defy everything you've ever seen or known about screen lovers. Bud Cort is Harold, a young man bored with wealth but interested in death. And Ruth Gordon is Maude, a wonderful old rascal who can see nothing but good intentions in the world. An outrageously funny and affecting film that proves love has no boundaries. Cat Stevens provides an uplifting musical score. Eight elderly women are left stranded in the wilderness with only their wits, their memories and eventually some roasted frogs' legs to sustain them.
It was produced by the National Film Board of Canada. George is a retiree who lives alone with his cat. His life is about as exciting as one might imagine a retiree's life to be. Heartwarming comedy follows a dysfunctional family on a frantic road trip across the US in a decrepit Volkswagen van to deliver their youngest to a chld beauty pageant on time. Olive Hoover Abigail Breslin is an ordinary little girl, perhaps even on the plain side as far as looks go but she has a dream cast in stone - to win the Little Miss Sunshine child beauty pageant. Her heroin-snorting grandfather Alan Arkin coaches her in some rather unorthodox and grown-up techniques - when he's not on the nod. Her mum Toni Collette and dad Greg Kinnear are at each other's throat because dad has sunk their entire worth into a self-help business that's a total non-starter.
Her philosophically-constipated older brother Paul Dano has taken a vow of nihilistic silence and her suicidal gay uncle Steve Carell has come to stay for a while after yet another failed attempt to cash out early. Has Olive got a chance? No, she hasn't, but it's the journey that matters, not the destination - ultimately the message of this touching comedy.
The film follows the experiences of a group of elderly Brits who arrive to take up residence in a newly-opened retirement home in Bangalore, India. Despite its glossy publicity campaign, the Marigold turns out to be rather different from the refurbished luxury hotel advertised in the brochures.
However, it soon begins to reveal some unexpected charms of its own. Our online library is also yours! Vitamin E works as a powerful antioxidant and skin conditioning active which helps prevent the signs of premature aging.
